Description:
Everyone has their own Margarita story, and you know you are no exception, so you don’t need to hear ours’…
While the stories may be complex, Margarita mixology is simply: 3 to 2 to 1. That is, three parts tequila to 2 parts triple sec to 1 part lime juice (FRESH lime juice, in our version!). No sugar required. Just combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker along with a scoop of ice, shake briskly a few times, and strain into a glass. Garnish with a bright wedge of lime, and Viola!
The cocktail’s origins are disputed. The October 1974 Texas Monthly story, “The Man Who Invented the Margarita,” asserts a Texas origin. Other theories claim that the drink was served in Acapulco, Mexico, or was popularized at the “Tail o’ the Cock” restaurant in Los Angeles.
The first verifiable “Margarita” citation is in the December 1953 Esquire magazine.
The citation is entered into the Oxford English Dictionary, incorrectly dated 1956.
There is no dispute, however, about Demeter’s Frozen Margarita. It is crisp, fresh, cool and full of Fresh Lime citrus-an escape from the mundane, anytime and anywhere.
