Humidor

The Scent: This is not exactly your father's Humidor. It is the scent of a professional Humidor you would walk into in a tobacco shop. Demeter's Humidor scent is a balanced and irresistible combination of the tobacco, spices and ozone of a large, retail Humidor.

The Inspiration: The Founder - Christopher Gable used to give his Dad cigars every Christmas. It became sort of a family joke because Christopher and his Dad knew his mother couldn't abide the odor of them. Christopher came to think that really, she was right, but he loved the scent of the cigars before they're smoked, right in the humidor where they're kept.

On a trip to Montreal a few years ago, in the hotel, where he was staying there was a walk-in humidor in the gift shop. He was greeted by a mixture of alarm and confusion but allowed to proceed. Inside the small glass room was the mixtures of rich tobaccos he had expected, but also the ozone smell of cold in the air, not exactly refrigerant, but simply that manufactured "cold" scent. Lovely together. We worked on it till we got both those elements in proper balance for this scent.
